Second, he has made contributions to organizing the calligraphy activities. Mr. Wei Tianchi has been promoting the development of calligraphy since the 1980s when he served as the vice chairman and director of the Creation Committee of the Chinese Calligraphers Association. Based on the overall situation and with the sharp insight, he has improved the calligraphy review system, the operation of calligraphy system and the inheritance and innovation of calligraphy, and found the balance between the advantages and disadvantages of the current national calligraphy dynamics,then offered many practical suggestion in writing and oral way. Been the chairman of the Jiangsu Calligraphers Association for 15 years, he has put forward that "Take calligraphy education as its momentum, and coordinate calligraphy education, calligraphy research and calligraphy creation as an integrate with mutual development, so as to attract new members, improve members’ abilities, cultivate more talents and make influential academic and artistic achievements”This has promoted Jiangsu calligraphy industry in all around, and established the status of a powerful province in calligraphy.

      Third, as to the calligraphy creation, Mr. Wei Tianchi's bold and free-handed art style is rooted in the ancient calligraphy tradition but penetrates the aesthetic preference of modern people, which clearly expresses a kind of romanticism. His mental state of being in control of his writing brush is free-handed and forward-looking and his writing style is like swinging swords, playing in all directions, unrestrained but blended into painting style. The movement of the line,up and down the paper,shows the change of situation.The magnificent work, especially in the works of cursive writing and cursive script, become an organic whole, and the work strongly presents to the reader the true character of the creator——honest and upright, bold and smart, vigorous and comfortable, warm and enthusiastic.

      Mr. Zhang Jianhua, chairman of the Federation of Literary and Cultural Affairs of Jiangsu province, Mr. Jin Jianfan, former vice chairman of the Chinese Association for the Promotion of Culture, and Mr. Su Shishu, chairman of the 7th Chinese Calligrapher's Association, delivered speeches as guest representatives. Mr. Wei Tianchi expressed his appreciation; Deputy mayor Li yan, on behalf of Xuzhou municipal people's government signed the donation agreement with Mr. Wei tianchi, and issued the collection certificate for him; Mayor Zhuang Zhaolin and guest representatives Gao Zhanxiang, Fang Zuqi, Gu hao, Wang zhan, Zhang Jiuhan jointly unveiled the plaque for Wei tianchi calligraphy museum. After the opening ceremony, Mr.Wei and other guests visited the museum together. About 200 people attended the opening ceremony, including Xuzhou related departments and units office workers, related provincial federation of literature and culture leaders, national and provincial leaders of art institutions, famous calligraphers, Mr. Wei tianchi’s friends and Xuzhou cultural representatives, and some Xuzhou university students.

      Su Shishu, President of the Chinese calligrapher's association, said in his speech: "Throughout the development of contemporary Chinese calligraphy, Mr. Wei Tianchi has made outstanding contributions to it. He is a well-known calligrapher, calligrapher educator and calligrapher theorist, and enjoys a high reputation in the world.Mr Wei Tianchi is all kinds of calligraphy, especially does well in cursive script. Vigorous and forceful, natural and unrestrained, rooted in traditional style, his work compound with painting characteristic, revealing a bright romantic color, which can be viewed as being born from the ancient but with unique new style.”
      Jin Jianfan, former vice President of the Chinese Culture Promotion Association, said in his speech: "As the first senior professor of calligraphy in China, Mr. Wei Tianchi is outstanding for his vigorous and bold calligraphy style. Mr.Wei is kind, brave and vigorous. He has received many good remarks since he was the vice president of the Chinese culture promotion association 14 years ago. For decades, he has been running around for the popularization of the calligraphy art, cultivating a group of backbone for Chinese calligraphy. It can be said that ‘peaches and plums do not talk, but a path follows them.’His pursuit of  Chinese calligraphy, the exquisite attainments and insights of Chinese culture have gone beyond his calligraphy skills, which inspires us to be in awe of Chinese characters and Chinese culture."
      Zhang Jianhua, chairman of the literary federation of Jiangsu province, chose four lines from four calligraphy works of Mr.Wei Tianchi to describe and evaluate the artistic life of Mr. Wei. As the chairman of the provincial calligraphy association, Mr. Wei has devoted a lot of efforts to the development of the province's calligraphy industry and the cultivation of calligraphy talents. He is a model in the field of calligraphy of Jiangsu province. With a broad mind and vision, he has won great praise and respect from the calligraphers in Jiangsu province and even the whole country. His vision and mind made the achievement of his calligraphy.
      In short, with his lifelong efforts, Mr.Wei has made three major achievements in calligraphy creation, calligraphy teaching and calligraphy organization, becoming a peak in the world calligraphy. Finally,  we would like to extend our sincere congratulations to Mr.Wei for his luck of Jiangsu, of Xuzhou and of calligraphy, and for his attitude of 80 years old, positive and hard-working, so that the spring of life and the spring of art will last forever and create new splendor of calligraphy.

      Wei Tianchi Calligraphy Museum, located in Xuzhou Yunlong Lake Zhushan art block, is one of the achievements built by Xuzhou municipal party committee and Xuzhou government like cultivating "Pengcheng Painting School"and creating "Great Calligraphy and Painting in Xuzhou". Covering an area of 3,700 square meters, with a floor area of 3,400 square meters and an exhibition area of 1,200 square meters, the exhibition museum officially opened on September 28, 2018. It is operated and managed by Xuzhou museum. Wei Tianchi calligraphy museum has two exhibition halls, where the collection and display of Mr. Wei from the 1960s to now are more than 100 works with a variety of forms and covering all kinds of calligraphy.The works show Mr. Wei’s lifetime creation and calligraphy achievements. As a special calligraphy museum, upholding the academic and public welfare principle, Wei Tianchi calligraphy museum will open to the public all the year round, which is committed to creating a platform for exhibition, education, exchange, research and creation. On the afternoon of September 28, Wei Tianchi calligraphy art seminar was held.
